Police Officer Selection Tests

Dear ILACP Members:

The Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police and Stanard & Associates, Inc. have partnered with one another to help police departments throughout Illinois hire the best officers possible through inexpensive and highly effective applicant testing. This existing program, copyrighted (and offered) by Stanard & Associates exclusively is now offered by the ILACP exclusively in Illinois. It allows law enforcement agencies of all sizes to test their applicants to insure they have the skills to be successful in training, as well as on the job.

The test, called the “National Police Officers Selection Test”, is a valid, accurate and fair method to assess an applicant’s ability to perform the essential functions of the job of police officer. It is currently being used by more than 2,000 agencies across the country. These entry-level tests can be obtained from ILACP and can be scored quickly right in your own department or if you prefer, can be scored via computer for you by our partner, Stanard & Associates.

This testing system helps set a statewide standard for police departments to hire qualified applicants who will develop into successful officers. The next time your department is hiring, or to obtain general information and an order form, please call the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, at (217) 523-3765 and ask about the entry level testing service. ILACP members will receive tests at a discounted rate and ILACP will receive income for every test sold!
